What is Mong Kok known for?

Victoria Peak loop

Victoria Peak loop

Victoria Peak has been introduced in some previous articles. Still, if you really come here, in addition to watching the scenery, shopping, enjoying food, etc., you can go hiking.

There is a hiking trail that is very suitable for a small family. The difficulty of the house is the most basic level. But to be honest, you will feel like a walk in the suburbs. I will introduce it to you today.

Transportation

  • take bus 15 from Exchange Square bus terminus
  • minibus 1 from MTR Hong Kong Station public transport interchange
  • Tram ( 6th generation peak tram on track to launch by summer 2022 )

Distance:

    3.5km

Estimated Completion Time:

less than 2 hours (including taking rest and taking photos)

Replenished Station:

    No.

Difficulty:

    Easy

The walk begins at Lugard Road near the Peak Tower, There are some trees along the road, and some special species, with display boards for the introduction. In addition, the entire walk is a concrete road, and there are no slopes or stairs. Therefore, you only need to wear casual clothes and sneakers.

After about 15 to 20 minutes, you will arrive at the Lugard Road Lookout, which offers a breathtaking all-encompassing perspective on Victoria Harbor. You can watch the whole view of Victoria Harbour, including the Kowloon Peninsula and Hong Kong, from east to west, all can be seen unobstructed.

After passing the left viewing platform, go all the way, and when you pass through the huge banyan tree group and bamboo forest, you must stop to take pictures.

Then, you will continue from Lugard Road to Harlech Road, which will take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Near the end of the trip, you will pass a small waterfall. You can choose to stop to watch and take photos or go straight ahead.

In the end, I will go to Peak Tower at the end of this trip. If you like the view at dusk, the Lugard Road Observation Deck is a good choice, but expect to arrive at the Peak Tower before dark (unless you have lighting equipment But for safety, I don't recommend doing this )

In addition, this path is bidirectional, and there are some benches at intervals along the way for people to rest in the middle, and some of those chairs are nearly 100 years old and have a unique classical style in appearance.

On the way you will meet nearby residents, travelers, a group of friends or family chatting while walking, or even someone walking or running with their pets. This is a good place for everyone to relax on a walk.

After that, you can go back to Peak Galleria to continue shopping, dining, or leaving.

In fact, there are paths to other places here, but this may be left for a later chapter. I'll see you next time.
